A Peaceful Journey

It wasn’t until I really started meditating that I was able to find my true self – opening up doors to not just a peaceful home but my entire lifestyle, including my love life. Now there’s something I should write a book about!  Because I didn’t know who I truly was, I went from relationship to relationship over the past 30 years -including two divorces.  I’ve also lived in my home for over 30 years and it has gone through as many changes as my personal life!  Trying on different styles (or men!) to find the right fit… only to find that all along the beauty was within me.

During my “dating” period of my life, I would buy new outfits to fit the kind of person that I thought the guy wanted me to be. Not who I was! I know, I know… you’re probably thinking “how absurd!” How can you find true love or the right fashion style that you’re comfortable in if you don’t really know who you are? Thank God I finally found “myself” along with the love of my life – my husband for the past 10 years. It is through this journey that my true self has blossomed and that my home now reflects the peace and serenity that I have found within.

Another excerpt from the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda is, “Intuition is soul guidance, appearing naturally in man during those instants when his mind is calm…. The goal of yoga science is to calm the mind, that without distortion it may hear the infallible counsel of the Inner Voice.”  It is that Inner Voice that will lead you to make the right choices in your life be it for your home, body or soul.
